How to wear: Mint Green Jeans

Mint Green is everybody’s favorite color lately, or so it seems. It feels like with mint green jeans there are limited option of tops that can go with it. But really, there are so many things you can wear with the bold pants. Here are some ideas on what you can style with those pretty mint green jeans hanging in your closet.
1) pair it with a neutral top

I absolutely LOVE neutral colors in fashion. They are subtle and they really allow statement pieces to stand out. Also, neutral colors (beige, ivory, blush) look stunning in any skin tone. Having a neutral top allows you to show of your jeans in subtle way.
*best for* everyday usage (school, shopping, errands etc.)
2. pair it with a cheetah print top

Usually, I hate it when your tops and jeans are fighting for attention. Surprisingly, this isn't the case. The cheetah print blouse complement the jeans, causing the mint green to pop. The bold shirt causes you to look at the outfit as a whole. Not piece by piece. Warning, not all cheetah print shirts will look great with mint green jeans. Use it with caution.
*best for* a night out (date night, casual get togethers etc.)

3.  pair it with a striped top

Horizontal stripes give a more professional look to the fun jeans.
*best for* work (internships and a casual day in the office)

Manhattan is the only man I will ever miss...

Take me back to New York please...

Style vs. Fashion

Fashion & Style or two distinct different things.
Let's flashback in time to 2 weeks ago when I made this life changing discovery...

I was sitting in NYC, yes New York City. Specifically, a mathematics classroom in Columbia University (sigh). I was there for the Columbia Scholastic Press Association Spring Convention with my high school. Anyways, I decided to take a fashion blogging class instead of design class because I am a lazy yearbook-er. The class was called "Writing Fashion & Beauty: Frivolous vs. Functional". It was taught by Gerit Quealy from Huffington Post and NBC's Life goes Strong. I learned alot in the 45 minute, mind blowing proportions actually. It even inspired me to start this blog. One thing Ms. Quealy said, however, has been engraved in my brain ever since she held her lecture:
Fashion is in the clothes. Style is in the wearer.
